For me photography is a passion, an obsession.

I mostly shoot film, especially with large format cameras of various kinds, especially a Deardorff 10x8. I also use medium format (especially a Hasselblad H1) and 35mm. I have also experimented with paper negatives.

From 2013 to 2019 seascapes were my main subject, particularly my Other World project. I live in the seaside town of Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan, close to the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, so the sea is an obvious subject for me to point a camera at.

In February 2019 I met Ken Keen FRPS who diverted me down the rabbit hole of alternative printing, initially with salt prints and then with other media, such as lumen prints, Kallitypes and Van Dyke Brown. The major emphasis of my photography over the last few years has been making alternative prints, initially from digital negatives from scanned film (mostly 5x4), and then since the end of 2020 from 10x8 film and paper negatives. I still make silver gelatin B&W prints and occasionally shoot colour film.
